TP-Link Tether App Reviews

Support saw that I had used my iphone to experiment with parental controls, and even though it was all white (nothing blocked), the Tether app would not let me log in. Upon deleting my iphone from Parental controls it works!!!, and FYI, so does parental controls. But that worked already, yea support

Cant log into my C9 router; says it isnt supported. Funny, I could log in until recent "upgrade". Even when it works, this is a poor app compared to Linksys. If zero stars were an option; this one would get it.

Seems to be fairly common problem.

Left a negative review a few days ago of the updated version that I would like to correct. With the new app update I had to do a factory reset on my router. Now everything works fine as it should. I am able to control my setting from the phone app. So whenever I have company and they ask for my wifi password I can turn on the guest channel and give the that one.

Installed it thinking it wouldnt work because of all the bad reviews, but its working for me so far.

Still unable to use on my C9 router since the update. Crap software and lousy apps support.

Just bought the Archer C9 and tried to use it, cant see or connect to the router. Im not sure the developers ever actually tested it.

App does not see my brand new c7 router. Everything up to date. Dont know what the problem could be

Works great! I do wish it could connect to my router externally. Then I can manage my network remotely. But once home it is quite easy and reliable.

It worked fine, and now suddenly doesnt support my archer C9. I bought this router for the ability to control it through the app. I WANT MY MONEY BACK.

Simple, intuitive. Needs a printer client type

Does not let me login. Has never worked even after restoring the router to factory settings and updating the router firmware. Junk. Needs some serious work.

I have the C3200 and i can do a portion of the things i can do on my mac. Its enough though. :) thanks tp link! The best router app ive used!

#1 con: This app provides no access to the advanced settings on the router available via the web. I would also like to see more client categories available for managing wireless clients. e.g. printers, smart home devices (Echo), NAS devices, home security devices, and wifi lighting. I will also like a simple view for displaying data consumption per connected device so I can start to go after heavy users. Pros: Easy to use and a real clean interface. Immediately recognizes TP-link devices on the network. All functions available work perfectly. I’m sure this will be a 5 start app soon enough!

I have archer c9 router and when I open up the app on either f my devices it says its not supported... REALLY???? So your top of the line router is not supported by your app... Whats wrong with you

Purchased an archer c9 and worked great at first. After the latest upgrade to the app the router isnt even pulling up on the app anymore!!! Guys either fix the problem or take the update down and let us use the previous software. As of right now, This is garbage.

Good enough when it works, but 1/2 the time Im on my home network it fails to recognize it.

I just got the AC2600 MU-MIMO and I love it. First time I have had an app to help control my router. Being able to see all devices connected is really cool. I wish I could see how strong their connection was and the speed they getting as well. I also would like full control to advance settings using the mobile app. I have not tried from my iPad yet. That will be next. I have also decided that the block feature will help me keep my kids in line. I can just say "Oh, so you dont want any internet.... I got an app for that!" Has already worked on the first night. Really cool. Thanks for a great router and a really cool app, I just hope that there are more features and control to come.

Very useful when troubleshooting, diagnosing, and changing settings on the new TP Link routers and modems. Great if you want to pull IPs, change Hostnames, block clients, adjust and view signals/connections. I even set up a guest network via the app so we dont have to give out our password. Only issue Ive encounter was it was a bit unintuitive for first time set up. Overall a fantastic app, well designed, and very useful.
